Far, far from now.

In a Galaxy, not unlike our own.

It is often in a lifetime that one may look up – up to the stars and dream in wonder of the mysteries and complexities of the ever changing cosmos. Many may have ponder as to the so often terrifying possibility that; we are not alone in this universe. Whilst, many others ask if the reverse is potentially the more frightening reality. This line of inquisition propelled humanity as we know it, into the sky at such a rate; that, by the year: four-thousand and eighty-five, many human colonies are scattered amongst the most far-flung sectors of chartered space. These sectors are divided in unity by the factions that create them, each with the deep rooted belief that their way of life, their systems of government, and their fleets of star ships superior.  

Take the mighty Imperium for instance, zealous and fierce. It is said that their God Emperor has ruled since the first of his kind took flight and explore the galaxy beyond their home.  

Or, the mysterious Shui Dynasty, in the great exodus this prominent family rose to power and were able to carve a large swathe of sectors for themselves; either by shrew negotiation, for those that saw eye to eye; for those that choose not to, well… Let’s just say; they aren’t talked about much anymore. 

What about the equivocal and calm Collective? lovers of laws, loopholes, and, above else, lies. This faction is a conglomeration of many merchants, and mercenary guilds from across the galaxy; all joining together in one big beautiful bundle of bureaucracy.  

Last but not least; the scattered and solitary Wreckfarers, slowly but inexorably salvaging the remains of the countless battles fought in the times after the great exodus.  

For now, there is a tenuous peace amongst the factions, as the torrent of habitably worlds from them to occupy has finally begun to run dry. As such, all agreed to a great tenet, to which; if broken, would lead to a very one sided war, with the wild and wonderful extra-terrestrial life that also populates the galaxy threatening to tip the balance.  

We being our story on the dusty world of Deinope, where ragtag group of adventurers gather to seek fame and fortune. Little did they know, once they had set foot in the arena; their lives, and the entire galaxy, would never be the same again.
